Paul Matthews has been chosen June's Member of the Month. Thank you Paul for the services you provide the blind community working at Wolfner. We appreciate your positive, jovial attitude and look forward to visiting with you in October at our MCB State Convention in Springfield.
Following is Paul's nomination letter.
Paul is the backbone for the Library Users of Missouri, which organized to encourage use of the Talking Book library, to raise money, and promote reading. Paul has been a reader advisor for the blind at Wolfner for forty-one years.
Paul was on the original board of directors, which signed the incorporation papers for the Library Users of Missouri on December 5, 1988. The other directors that signed were Carolyn Anderson president; Don Kerns, vice-president; Kaye Steinmetz, secretary; and Leroy Welch, chaplain. Paul was the treasurer, a position he has held for 26 years.
Paul is an honest and fun-loving individual. Paul has a kind word for everyone. At conventions, you will find him engaged in conversation, helping someone, or selling raffle tickets as a fundraiser for the Library Users. Please consider Paul for this award, as he is very deserving.
